Supervision
Supervision Services

Supervision has always been an integral part of delivering cognitive behavioural approaches within mental health care.
This is for a number of reasons:

  1. To ensure validity to the model is being maintained
  2. To ensure ongoing learning is being maintained by practitioners
  3. To allow for review and evaluation of cases and adopt a “lessons learnt” approach
  4. To encourage reflective practice and build the confidence of practitioners
  5. To allow a cost effective use of external mental health professionals

We have now trained many individuals in using a cognitive behavioural approach in their work for the support and treatment of individuals experiencing common mental health problems.

Throughout the period of the training many students have asked for ongoing supervision (or at least how to access it) and it became evident that this was a concern students had in ensuring they maintained their practice.

Sharon Wilday and Alan Dovey are now able to offer telephone supervision to students who have completed their training. The supervision can be tailored to meet the needs of the practitioner and their organisational role.

Each supervision session will be for a maximum 30 minutes and can be structured to occur at regular times i.e. 2 sessions per month or ad hoc times when required. Please contact us to discuss further
